A few months ago, I published a blog post titled:

How to Break the 70+ Barrier in GAMSAT Section 2

The purpose of that article was to explore why many capable candidates plateau in the mid-to-high 60s despite significant effort.

The conclusion was surprisingly simple:

Most candidates focus on writing.

The highest-scoring candidates focus on structure.

Over multiple GAMSAT sittings, external essay marking, tutor feedback, and years of refinement, I gradually moved away from viewing Section 2 as a writing task and began to see it as a thinking task performed under time pressure.

That shift ultimately led to the development of a broader framework.

Rather than offering shortcuts or memorised templates, the focus is on understanding the underlying architecture of high-scoring essays and developing a repeatable system that can be adapted across a wide range of themes.
